Igor Żmudzki is a Polish-born artist currently working in Berlin.
Artist statement: “In my practice, I engage with any subject, considering this to be an artist’s responsibility. I combine and bring together whatever techniques I find appropriate to address the human condition, phenomena that remain incomprehensible, and the problems of the world.
I’m not making art, and I am not talking dramatically about feelings or thinking about what is more sophisticated, or somehow defining myself. I prefer to paint than to talk about something. The words are then combined with colours, and vice versa. Seeing comes before words. The child looks and recognizes before it can speak. And… I recognized that… I don’t like: glittering adverts, fast food, and fake smiles. Fashion, trends, and having sex for the sake of having sex.”
